Deshbhakt Shankarrao Gavankar College, in association with the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE), University of Mumbai, successfully organized the Entrepreneurship Development Program 2026 at the college campus.

The program was graced by Mr. Prateek Parashar, Centre Head and Field Officer, MSME (Delhi), as the chief guest. The event was also attended by Coordinator Mr. Pawar, along with faculty members and students.

Inspiring Students to Become Job Creators

While interacting with the students, Mr. Parashar encouraged them to become self-reliant entrepreneurs rather than job seekers. He emphasized the importance of starting small businesses and growing them into successful ventures that can generate employment opportunities for others.

He shared detailed information about various schemes and initiatives launched by the Government of India to support small and medium enterprises. Students were guided on:

  • Government support systems for small business clusters

  • Available MSME schemes and financial assistance

  • Required documentation and registration procedures

  • Opportunities to scale small businesses into larger enterprises

He motivated students by explaining that even small initiatives, when planned properly, can grow into large and successful businesses.

Future Workshops and Collaboration

During the event, it was announced that a joint workshop will soon be conducted by MSME and Gavankar College for district-level entrepreneurs to provide further guidance and practical exposure.

The program was skillfully anchored by Prof. Saiprasad Pandit, while the introductory address was delivered by Yashodhan Gawas. The vote of thanks was proposed by Extension Head Asmita Gawas.

The success of the program was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Extension Teacher Anand Naik and Student Representative Narayan Ingale, along with the active participation of students and faculty members.

A Step Towards Self-Reliance

The Entrepreneurship Development Program 2026 proved to be an informative and inspiring initiative aimed at nurturing entrepreneurial spirit among students. By bridging the gap between government schemes and aspiring entrepreneurs, the program created a strong foundation for future business leaders.

The college continues to take meaningful steps toward empowering students with practical knowledge, leadership skills, and entrepreneurial confidence.
